Hot Chocolate Oat and Banana Smoothie

If you find it hard this time of the year, to drink a cold smoothie for breakfast here's a delicious must try hot and toasty winter smoothie. It might sound a little strange but once you taste it, you'll realise it's not. It will not only energise you ready for the day ahead, it will wake you up and warm you up.

Ingredients

150ml almond milk (or other milk of your choice)​

 1/4 cup organic rolled oats

1 scoop  Chocolate Healthy Weight or Protein Plus

1 small banana​

1 tspn chia seeds​

1 small handful of almonds 

 

Optional Extras:

Prep

Heat the almond milk (and dark chocolate if using) in the microwave or a saucepan if your prefer . In a blender add the oats, banana, almonds, chia seeds, water and half the almond milk (take extra care when blending hot liquids).  Blend on high for a minute until a consistency of your choice. Pour the mix into a large mug or heat proof glass and stir in the remaining hot almond milk. (Add a little extra cold milk or water if needed).  Top with a sprinkle of either grated chocolate, chia seeds or oats or anything you like. ​

Drink, and enjoy being warm and energised!
